Japanese Inspired Salmon and Avo Sushi Rolls

Step 1

Cook the rice according to the packet instructions, and stir vinegar through the rice and set aside to cool.

Step 2

Place the sushi mat down with the slats running horizontally and place one nori sheet shiny side down on the mat. Lay a quarter of the rice spread evenly on the nori sheet, leaving a 1cm boarder at the top and bottom. Lay the salmon over the rice, add a thin layer of mayonnaise and top with avocado.

Step 3

Gently lift the end of the mat closest to you and roll it over the ingredients. Continue rolling the mat to make a complete roll. Use a sharp knife to slice the rolls at 2cm interval. Repeat for remaining 3 nori sheets. Serve with pickled ginger, soy sauce and wasabi if desired and enjoy!


300g Tassal Smoked Salmon
1½ cups Japanese style sushi rice
2 Tbsp rice vinegar
4 Nori sheets
1 avocado, thinly sliced
2 Tbsp Soy sauce, to serve
2 Tbsp mayonnaise, to serve
Wasabi paste, to taste
